Here at Lakeview Lodge Karapiro we have the unique opportunity to offer Farm Experiences for guests on

Each tour is led by Joanne Leigh, who holds a Bachelor of Agricultural Science, with 1st Class Honours.

Joanne has a hands-on approach to farming and a zest for life with roles consulting both on the domestic and international stage

Our guests will be well catered for with tours adapted to suit everyone from a gentle pat with Big Red our friendly cow or

a more in-depth insight into dairy and sheep farming.

1. One hour tour of Lake Farm, with amazing views of Lake Karapiro.

The tour encompasses a full explanation of our

farming operation, a walk through the paddocks, viewing the cows and calves on farm.

Petting and photo’s with “Big Red” (our famous hand reared cow who loves a pat and a cuddle).

Minimum $150/Tour

For four people or more $45pp and children under 12 free.

2. One hour tour of McBeath's Sheep Farm.

Walk down towards the lake through mature trees and into the sheep paddocks.

Stunning views over Lake Karapiro, friendly sheep who talk to you and come up for a pat.

For four people or more $45pp and children under 12 free.

We can also cater for special interest groups for example Veterinarians, Ag Students, Corporate Interest etc.

Tour pricing is available on application and subject to numbers and your specific requirements.

We have a farm bio-security programme in place.

All tours are subject to availability. Allow 1 - 1.5 hours.
