Lakeview Lodge Karapiro Ltd is a NZ owned & operated business. 

Cancellation and Booking Policy:


35% deposit is required to secure the booking once confirmed.
The balance due no later than 30 days prior to arrival.
Cancellation within 180 - 30 days of arrival date: 35% forfeit of the total booking price.
Cancellation outside the 180-day period a full refund and no charge will occur.
Cancellation within 30 days of arrival date: 100% forfeit of the total booking price.
We apply a 2% surcharge to payments made using a credit card, which is in line with our cost of acceptance. 
If check out is after 10am then an additional rate may be applied, please enquire prior to stay.
If Lodge is left in an unacceptable condition an extra cleaning fee may apply
We Would require a credit card to be held on file with a pre-authorised sum of NZD500 for any damages incurred during your stay.  Please see details of security bond listed below.


House Rules

We wish to ensure the beautiful location we are situated on and the facilities and amenities and protect them for our current and future guests, so we need to put in place the following.

Lakeview Lodge Karapiro does not run a 24-hour reception desk. 

Our office hours are Monday to Friday 0830am to 0500pm. 

We do operate a self-check in after these hours.  We will of course provide after hours contact numbers.  These numbers will be in operational for your Lodge queries not outlined in the Compendium in each Lodge, these hours are 0800am to 0700pm.  In case of emergency you will contact the Owners of the Lodge.  If not deemed so, then a call out charges may apply.
Lakeview Lodge Karapiro Limited has the authority to charge the final amount on the credit card provided only in the instance that the final balance is not settled at check out.  Please note that check out is promptly at 10am.  If departing after this time, then an additional cost will be incurred and can be equivalent to the nightly rate.


On departure please ensure the all dishes are done and that rubbish is discarded in bins provided.  We would appreciate that food is not left on the bench, so perhaps placed in the fridge is the preferred option.  In addition to this, if it is deemed that a special clean is required, above and beyond the high stand level of housekeeping, then a special clean fee will be applied.

NO PETS due to proximity of the working farm

Due to the proximity of the working farm, there will be hazards, so please keep within the Lodge boundaries for your safety, unless otherwise agreed.  Please dupervise children in your care as they remain your responsibility.


The persons registering as the guest will be liable for any loss or damage to the appliances, furniture, keys, fixtures and all fittings of the Lodge. 

Lakeview Lodge Karapiro will not be liable to compensate for the loss, theft or damage of personal property on, or brought into the lodge or in the immediate vicinity and would recommend Domestic or International Travel Insurance.  Where guest sign for and on behalf of a business or authority and in the event the business or authority is unable to or refuses to pay any amount due, the guest shall be liable to pay any amount owing by the business or authority under this agreement.


Lakeview Lodge Karapiro is a NON-SMOKING PROPERTY.  Smoking is not permitted at any time within the apartment or common areas.  Failure to comply with result in an additional $250.00 cleaning cost and any additional cost associated with emergency services $2000.00, if the smoke alarms are set off as the result of smoking and this includes, e-cigarettes, puffers, vapours or associated paraphernalia. 


Lakeview Lodge Karapiro maintains a NO PARTY POLICY, we reserve the right to terminate accommodation without refund at any time.
If any of the above results in a loss of income, then these charges will be applied to you as our guest.  In addition to accommodating any pre-booked guests scheduled to arrive.


SECURITY BOND - CREDIT CARD AUTHORISATION:


On arrival at the Lodge, Lakeview Lodge Karapiro requires a credit card pre-authorisation.
A credit card authorisation (pre-auth) will be asked for at time of check in and will be used to cover incidental items such as (but not limited to):
• Catering charges outside of anything pre-arranged.
• Any breakages or damage incurred during your stay.
• Any excessive cleaning charges, above the normal level of cleaning due to the room being left in an unacceptable state.
• Additional servicing / cleaning charges.


We pre-authorise all credit cards upon arrival.


Please note this process validates the presented credit card and protects both the cardholder and merchant from increasing fraud incidents. We may pre-authorise a credit card for any charges we determine that the guest may be likely to consume during their stay. This may also include an amount to cover a security bond / deposit for damages.


The pre-authorised amount is set aside by the credit card company for a period of up to 10-days. The pre-authorisation will affect your available funds and / or spending limit. For more information on this practice we suggest the cardholder contact their card issuer. 


No money is taken from your credit card, but it will show as a 'Pending Transaction' and you may choose to use a different payment type to pay your final bill.
We here at Lakeview Lodge Karapiro Ltd require a pre-authorised amount of $500.00.


Once a pre-authorisation has been made, we cannot release, remove or lower the authorised amount, until we process the final account on departure. This is a restriction placed on us by the bank and cannot be negotiated.


Upon departure the bond will be refunded to your credit card if you chose to pay with another method for domestic credit card holders this process may take up to 72 hours. If you’re an international card holder this may take longer depending on your financial institution.


We reserve the right to cancel bookings, remove guests who cannot provide the bond amount to cover potential incidents as outlined above. 
Bonds will NOT be refunded until a complete inspection of the vacant room by our staff has been conducted.


ARRIVALS OUTSIDE OF OFFICE HOURS


All guests are required to complete the registration documentation on arrival, agreeing to the above terms and conditions. For properties that are un-manned at the time of arrival, the Sign-in documentation attached to the reservation confirmation must be signed by the guest and placed into Lakeview Lodge 'drop box'. 

Guests should advise of late arrivals and instruction on how to retrieve the room key will be issued by Lakeview Lodge Karapiro.

Entrance into reserved apartment will act as acceptance to the above terms and conditions stated. 

A copy of these Terms and Conditions will be available in arrival instructions.


WHO IS RESPONSIBLE


The registered guest name is the person is responsible for the Lakeview Lodge Ltd and its contents for the period of registration. The registered guest will be liable for damages caused by third parties, including but not limited to visiting friends; regardless of whether the registered guest is present or not at the time the damage occurs.


BUT I HAVE PREPAID MY ACCOMMODATION.


You may have prepaid your accommodation with one of our online suppliers. In this instance you will only be asked for a credit card authorisation or bond to cover the incidentals of your stay.


If you do not have any charges on your account when you depart this authorisation or bond will be returned to your form of payment.
This is a requirement for the Lakeview Lodge Karapiro to accept your booking. The Lodge Management Team have no authority to reduce or limit the amount of bond taken.


WHY DO WE DO THIS?


Unfortunately, our industry is regularly being targeted by people who are using stolen credit cards and or just choose not to pay for their stay. We have credit cards that are rejected when we go to authorise them.


The only way we must protect ourselves is to pre-authorise credit cards and or take a cash payment. If we do not take a bond as well then, we have people who leave and if incident has occurred then we have no recourse.  And this in turn means that everyone else has to pay.


Unfortunately, it is the small number of people that can potentially cost us a lot of money that has meant this policy has been introduced.
